Musical end to the school year

Students at Waltham Toll Bar Academy delighted loved ones with their musical talent in their end of year Summer Concert.

The evening began with a welcome from Vice Prinicpal, Mr Hughes-Jones and led by Music Teacher, Mr Longden.

The performances started with a beautiful rendition of 'Something Just Like This', originally by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, from the Waltham Toll Bar Academy Singers.

There were several talented pianists performing, including Year 8 students, Dinikarani Jayasinghe and Kelvin Xue and Sixth Former, William Jones.

Solo singers of the evening were Holly Lamberton with 'Video Games' by Lana Del Ray and Sixth Form student, Isabella Rowson sang Beyonce's 'Ave Maria'.

The Upper School Band performed 'Zombie' by The Cranberries.

Mr Longden accompanied the Lower School Singers as they sang Power in Me by Rebecca Lawrence.

Lower School Singers ended the first half of the night with a fun rendition of 'When I Grow Up' from Matilda: The Musical.

Waltham Toll Bar's Got Talent Ensemble Winners gave an impressive show of 'Ex-Wives' from the musical, SIX.

Year 7s Myles Johnston and Issac Smith put on a great show, performing 'Mardy Bum' by the Arctic Monkeys.

This was followed by Waltham Toll Bar's Got Talent Solo Winner, Jasper Dowell who sang 'Kindergarten Boyfriend' from Heathers.

The musicals theme continued with Courtney Standley performing 'She Used To Be Mine' from the musical, Waitress, followed by Lauren Harrison singing 'The History of Wrong Guys' from Kinky Boots.

The Upper School Singers sang 'Somewhere Only We Know' with beautiful vocals from all soloists involved.

The evening ended with a spirited performance from the Lower School Band who performed classics 'TNT' by ACDC and 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana.
