Careers Week

Television star Charlotte Ritchie has thanked students for their input and interest during her guest appearance during National Careers Week.

Best known for BBC comedy Ghosts and period drama Call the Midwife, the actor took time out of her busy schedule to chat to students, including some of the cast from the forthcoming school production of Matilda.

She responded to Assistant Principal Mr Fothergill who had said how much students had enjoyed speaking to her.

She said: "Thank you so much for having me. I'm so glad they had a good time.

"I really loved it, and I think I also learned a bit more about what might be more useful or interesting next time. It was great to hear what they're interested in!

"They asked such lovely questions. I had such a nice time."

Charlotte had spoken candidly for an hour about her life and career, including a well-received question and answer session.

Charlotte read English and Drama at the University of Bristol rather than taking the traditional drama school route into acting.

Among her other credits are Channel Four comedies Fresh Meat and Feel Good, Dr Who and Wonka.
