Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination — Year 9 Pupils Only

Download the original letter

Dear Parent/Carer

During the summer term, the School Nursing Service will be visiting your child’s school to give the 2nd dose HPV vaccination.

If your child received their 1st dose HPV, you have already given consent for the 2nd dose therefore, you do not need to do anything else.

If you no longer want your child to receive the 2nd dose, phone 01472 323660 before 4th June.

If your child missed their 1st dose last year and you wish them to be vaccinated, please phone 01472 323660 or email the service on schoolnursingadvice@nelincs.gov.uk.

Your child will only receive the 2nd dose once a minimum of 6 months has passed since their 1st dose.

If your child misses the vaccination on the day, please be assured that the service offers several catch ups throughout the academic year.

This vaccine helps protect against cancers caused by HPV, including cervical, penile and anal cancers as well as some mouth and throat (head and neck) cancers. For more information visit Vaccinations - NHS (www.nhs.uk).

If you have any queries, please email the service on schoolnursingadvice@nelincs.gov.uk or phone 01472 323660.

Yours sincerely
