I am writing to you regarding the arrangements for GCSE and BTEC Results Day 2021. Students are invited to attend Tollbar Academy to collect their results between 9:00am and 12:00pm on Thursday 12 August 2021. We would also like to extend the invitation to parents and carers.
Please can we ask students to attend via Tollbar Reception where they will be welcomed and directed to the Drama Hall to collect their results. Once they have collected their results, students will make their way to the main playground where they can meet up with their parents/carers. On arrival at the Academy we would ask parents/carers to follow the signage directing them to the main playground. Parents/carers will remain on the main playground to meet up with their child.
Students wishing to enrol in Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College will be able to meet staff in the Avro Hall. Students also have the option of on-line enrolment if unable to do so on results day.
If a student is unable to collect their results in person, they are more than welcome to provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope prior to results day. Alternatively, students can nominate someone to collect results on their behalf. However, the nominated person must bring a letter from the student. The letter must name the person nominated and be signed and dated by the student. For added security, we would ask that the person nominated bring a form of photographic identification with the letter. They will be welcome to attend Tollbar during the morning of Thursday 12 August.
This year the appeals process will be in two stages. The first stage will be to request a centre review. I have enclosed a JCQ Important information for students form detailing the appeals process this year and relevant deadlines, should you require them. All completed request forms need to be emailed to email@example.com.
Should your child wish to sit any of their GCSE examinations in the autumn term, once they have seen their results, please contact Tollbar Academy Examinations Office by Tuesday 31 August 2021 using the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that if your child is continuing their studies elsewhere in September 2021 and wishes to sit GCSE Mathematics or English Language in November 2021, having achieved a result below a Grade 4, they will need to contact their new education provider instead.
Certificates, which are the only official confirmation of a student’s results, will be available for collection from Reception from December 2021. Please ensure certificates are collected within twelve months as schools and colleges are only obliged to keep them for this period.
We look forward to seeing you and your child on results day.
Miss V J Watts
