Year 7 students were presented with a copy of the bible by Judith Bass and Jeremy Bass, of the Grimsby Branch of Gideons UK, at a special assembly.

Jeremy said: "We visit every secondary school Year 7 in the area. We handed out over 300 bibles today and, in total, we hand out 1,500-2,000 in this area every year. Our aim is to give young people the choice to read the bible for themselves and respond to it. It is modern and easy to read."

Heather McKenna, Curriculum Leader for Social Sciences, Politics and R.E., said: "It is an excellent opportunity to allow students to learn about living faith by engaging with representatives from faith groups. It is relevant to the curriculum."
