Academy Entrance/Exit

23 May 2019

Dear Parent/Carer

Academy Entrance/Exit

We have written to parents previously regarding road safety concerns at the front of the Academy at the start and end of the school day.

On Friday 30 November 2012, there was a very serious accident outside the main entrance and a member of the public, on a motorcycle, was fatally injured.

We are very concerned about the safety of students, parents and staff and I am asking all parents not to drop children off at any of the entrance or exit gates and not to do U-turns in these areas.

No parent would intentionally risk the safety of others, however, these are extremely busy entrance and exit areas with pedestrians, cyclists and motorists entering and exiting the site; vehicles stopping or doing U-turns in these areas present a real safety risk.

Please can you ensure that you drop off and collect students from safe areas away from the Academy gates.

Please sign your son/daughter's planner on page 30, the Academy/Home Communications page, to indicate that you have received this letter.

Yours faithfully

Mrs C L Yates
